but a lot of maps favor yuri, not to mention you need unique gameplay against a strong yuri. There’s no faction that truly believes that their cause is unjust or evil celebrating their own struggle, while condemning the enemy.1)yuri (a skillful yuri player is very hard to beat on any map. This actually sheds light on war propaganda in real life. GDI and Nod, USA and Russia or Allies and China, the campaign you play always shows your side as the great hero fighting the ruthless oppressor. Perhaps my favourite thing about the C&C campaigns is that we get to see both sides of the story. A special mention goes out to two of my favourite units from the series- The unstoppable Russian Kirovs from Red Alert 2 and the Chinese Overlord tanks from Generals. From femme fatales like Tanya and Natasha in Red Alert 3, to the Mammoth MK II and the Cyborg Commando in Tiberium Sun, nothing turns the tide in a skirmish quite like these guys. And if you need a game changer, look no further than the special units. The sonic beam shooting Dolphin and War Bear from Red Alert 3 are only a few of the ridiculous units you can use. Each unit from each faction is unique in its own way. Infantry, vehicles, artillery, special units nothing can quite describe that awesome feeling when a new one is available. Ofcourse, the C&C saga would be nothing without its variety of units. Sure, they seem kind of silly now, but their over-the-top and self-aware nature fit the games perfectly. Skimpily clad women, unnecessarily gruff men and corny screenplay made up the gaps between each mission. I know that’s a lot of names, but I thought of another name every time I wanted to end the list. It’s even more endearing when you actually recognise said actors- Tim Curry, James Earl Jones, JK Simmons, George Takei, David Hasselhoff, Ric Flair, Randy Couture, that guy from Lost, the High Sparrow from Game of Thrones and let’s not forget Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy as the poster girl for Red Alert 3. There’s something very endearing about live action characters addressing a teenager as Commander, or General. There are a bunch of things that make up the C&C series as we love it, one of those is the star cast and the cheesy cut-scenes.
